Mexican dinner date with my guapo esposo!

My sweet sister brought over some hodo vodo ear cleaning tubes. They are these long hollow funnels that you jam as deep into your ear as you can and the set on FIRE! Yeah, Andrea had some convincing to do before I was brave enough to do it. But she swore that she had done it before and that it was perectly safe. So I get in the position and get all torched up and honestly I don't feel anything. I can hear some crackling fromt he fire but that is it. It took about 10 minute for it to burn all the way down. The tube is in the ear, the plate is about 3 inches away from your ear and you let the tube burn all the way down till it just about touches the plate. Then you douse it in a close by cup of water, and unravel it. It was SOOOOOOOO gross! I didn't take pictures because I didn't want anyone throwing up but maximum nastiness had been achieved. The tube had filled up with wax and ear gunk and as gross as it was, the nasty was in the tube and not in your ear. And that was cool. I had liberated ear, so much to the point that myhead felt heavier on one side then the other. So I flipped over an repeatedand liberated both my ears from gook and gunk. I am so glad that I did it.

Derek has been working SO hard this semester. We have been such strangers and I was so happy for the semester to be over so I could get my husband back. I was not the only one who was immpressed by Derek's hard work. The university that he attends also noticed all of his work and nominated him and 5 others for the psychology student of the year award. We got to go to a luncheon and ceremony with all the bells and whistles. We were getting so nervous when it came time for the winner to be announced. When we heard "And the winner is...DEREK OLIVER!" I was so excited I screamed! Derek got to go up and give an acceptance speech and everything. I was so proud! Way to go babe, that is going to look so good on the applications we are sending out this summer for other universities. Derek is graduating this next semester and then it is off the greener pastures. Oh what suprises are in store?

Derek was the chosen to be the auctioneer at our church fundraiser. In typical Derek fashion he had everyone laughing it up. Wich must have made them feel good about spening money cause we made some buko bucks that night. It's nice to know that if this whole psychology thing doesn't work out we have a cushy fall back as an auctioneer.

To the dunes!

Just a cool picture that I took while we were hanging on the bridge. Very Artsy!

There was some sort of construction expo going on and Jude and I went to investigate. He loves "diggers" so we were all up and over these machines. We wren't supposed to actually...touch the machines...but....I couldn't resist. I would run Jude up snap a shoot and then run him back down. He loved it!!! If you are selling a machine that isn't toddler tough, then you are in the wrong buisness.

Ths is Derek helping out at a psychology club fund raiser! Pie in the face anyone?

Derek is turning 28 this year, and what do we do for an adult party? We play video games, duh! Derek got a new fighting game for his birthday and we all had a tournament where everyone fought everyone. Of course Derek won but there was some serius competition from Oliver who was feeling it. We wrapped it up with a green velvet cake with the green lantern symbol on it. Happy birthday my darling!

Hurricane mud run. I am in love with these adventure 5ks. This one was put on by the national guard and had over 20 obstacles. We had tires, mud pits, trenches, tires, planks, swinging. I couldn't get a picture of all of them. In fact I wasn't even sure if my camera would make it. I put it all safe in a zip lock baggie thinking things were gonna be cake, boy was I wrong. By the time I was done running the camera ws covered in mud and I had bricks on my feet. The mud had caked on my feet so thick. Also I started with high capris and by the time I was done the pants were so heavy that I was certain I was mooning some of the runners behind me. SUch a fun run and next year I am going to get Derek to come with me. More mud, more better!

So it is General Conference weekend and while most mommies are trying thier best to help their children sit quietly and reverently thorough 4 hours of speakers I didn't even try. I love conference and want to listen to and enjoy it and if I had two toddlers coming apart at the seams it isn't going to happen. So I errected a mini bouncy town and just let the kids have fun, while I sat by being nourished by the words of the prophets. Love me some general conference and hopefully when the kids are a little older they will sit with me and love it too.
